Product Description

This USB 2.0 Type-A female PCB connector is designed for reliable power and signal transmission in compact electronic equipment. The connector uses a PBT glass-fiber housing and a nickel-plated stainless-steel shell to deliver high mechanical strength and excellent resistance to heat and corrosion, making it suitable for long-term operation in demanding environments. Gold-flash contacts and tinned terminals ensure stable contact resistance and low electrical loss for both power and high-speed data lines.

The through-hole DIP termination provides strong solder joints on the PCB and improves retention strength compared with SMT-only solutions, especially in applications where the mated cable may be frequently plugged and unplugged. The standard 4-pin USB layout supports USB 2.0 data transmission while remaining backward-compatible with many existing cable assemblies and host interfaces.

Precautions 

Electrical rating – Do not exceed the specified current and voltage; overspec loading may cause overheating of the connector and surrounding PCB pads.

PCB layout – Follow the recommended land pattern and keep high-speed signal traces short and impedance-controlled to maintain stable transmission quality.

Soldering process – Suitable for wave-solder or selective-solder processes. Avoid excessive solder temperature or dwell time to prevent deformation of the PBT housing.

Mating compatibility – Use with standard USB Type-A male plugs and quality cables to ensure proper insertion force and contact alignment.

Mechanical stress – Avoid pulling or twisting the mated cable at extreme angles; use strain-relief structures or cable clamps in the enclosure design.
