The SAS 29P IDC Female Cable Connector 180° with Positioning Peg & Top Boss is a high-reliability electronic signal and power connector designed for SAS-based server, storage and industrial systems. With a 1.27mm pitch housing and 29 female terminals, it is ideal for compact, high-density wire and cable assemblies between backplanes, dummy ports or mechanical interfaces and controller boards.
Each terminal is produced from phosphor bronze C5191-H (t = 0.25mm) and plated with 50u" minimum nickel over the entire terminal, 15u" minimum gold on the contact area for low contact resistance and corrosion resistance, and 80u" minimum tin on the solder & crimp area to ensure strong, reliable bonding with copper wires. This plating system provides stable performance for both power and high-speed electronic signal transmission.
The glass-filled LCP housing (UL94-V0, black) offers excellent mechanical strength, dimensional stability and heat resistance in demanding electrical environments. The connector is specified for 1.5A @ 40VAC, with ≤30mΩ contact resistance, ≥1000MΩ insulation resistance, and 500VAC dielectric withstand, giving clean and reliable transmission in server and automotive systems.
The combination of positioning peg and top boss (bump) helps align the connector accurately with mating hardware or fixtures and improves retention in over-molded cable ends, making it a robust choice for customized wire, cable and wiring harness designs.

⚠️ Notes
- Select appropriate wire gauge and insulation according to the 1.5A @ 40VAC rating and your power / signal requirements.
- Follow the recommended IDC / crimping process to make sure the tin-plated crimp area is fully engaged, ensuring low resistance and high mechanical strength.
- Keep gold-plated contact areas clean; avoid touching terminals with bare fingers to prevent contamination and oxidation.
- During assembly, use the positioning peg to align the connector correctly in jigs, shells or over-mold tools, reducing stress on terminals.
- Do not exceed the specified mating/unmating forces and always respect the single-pin retention ≥0.8kgf to maintain connector integrity.
- Store connectors in dry, anti-static packaging, and handle them in ESD-protected areas when installing into sensitive PCB or electronic systems.
- Use the connector only within the specified temperature range (–20°C to +85°C) and electrical ratings to ensure long-term reliability.
